It was through Karakoram Pass which is the most important and long-established way between India and Central Asia.

Then, Kashmiri Muslim traders settled in Ladakh and monopolized trade with Tibet. Trade ended with Xinjiang in 1949-50 when the People’s Liberation Army came. Ladakh’s trade with Tibet starts diminishing by 1959 after the Chinese take-over in 1950-51. All were absorbed by the border dispute between India and China. Later, China-Pakistan relations from 1963 onwards start to create complications.

Recently, a dispute with the Chinese army at Galwan Valley in Ladakh has reopened the pages of the past. But, as of this time, our forces fought back. India and China went through a loss of hundreds of people.

China prisoned our 10 soldiers but to make it even, our forces put their Commander General behind the bars in our territory. To them, it was the great symbol of losing this dispute to our forces. Days went on and now both the nations retreated their forces from the heated grounds and things came back to quite normal.

India and China’s relationship mount a wide spectrum. Our ties between Himalayan regions and Tibet were people-centered that China has broken. We are going through a pandemic and the stakes involved impact our India’s economic well-being. But, cannot ignore the national security concerns.

According to The State of World Population Report 2020 released by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the number of “missing females” globally has more than doubled in 50 years. In 1970, the missing females’ population was 61 million and it rose to 142 million globally in 2020. India and China form the majority of missing women globally of which India accounts for 45.8 million of the world’s 142.6 million. As of “missing females “global figure 2020, India accounts for 45.8 million and China for 72.3 million.

51% of young women with no education and 47% of those with only a primary education married by the age of 18. Only “29% of young females with secondary education, and 4% with post-secondary married before 18″.

This year globally an estimated 4.1 million girls will be subjected to female genital mutilation.

  • 500 gms prawns
  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tbsp salt and pepper
  • 1 cup oil for frying

For prawn gravy

  • 1 cubed capsicum
  • 2 onion diced
  • ½ inch ginger grated
  • Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 3 green chilies
  • Spring onion (finely chopped)
  • Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 cup of water
  • refined oil

Method

  • First, remove prawns head and shell.
  • Then add one egg, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp black pepper to the mixing bowl. Mix it nicely together.
  • Add cornflour to the mixing bowl for making the batter to fry it in oil. Cover the bowl and leave it for 10-15 mins for marination.
  • Take a pan and place it on medium-high flame and add 1/2 cup of refined oil in the pan.

  • Now, place the same pan on high flame. You can add oil if required and when the oil gets hot, add chopped garlic and capsicum to it.
  • Separate the layers of onions and then add them to the pan.

  • Take chopped spring onions, 2 tsp soya sauce, and 2 tbsp ketchup and add them to the pan.

  • Then take a bowl with 2 cups of water, add 2 tbsp cornflour to it, and mix it well to get a lump-free mix.

  • Once the gravy starts boiling, add the batter-fried prawns to the pan and stir it.
  • Prawns won’t take more than 2-3 mins to get done, then sprinkle chopped spring onion leaves from the top.

  3. Then, add tomatoes and tomato paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.
  4. Saute the mixture well. Also add some vegetable stock and cook it for some time.
  5. Once you cook the mixture well and tomatoes are soft, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool. Now, pour the mixture into a blender and add a cup of vegetable stock. Blend to make a smooth paste. 
  6. Now, pour the blended paste back into the saucepan and turn on the heat. Add some vegetable stock if the mixture is thick, and bring to a simmer. Then, add the tofu cubes and stir them. Now, add salt to taste.
