Sadak Continues In Sadak 2 Movie

Sadak 2 movie, as we all know is the continuation of the 1991 blockbuster Sadak which has also been directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The lead character, Sanjay Dutt who played the role of a taxi driver Ravi and Pooja Bhaat played the role of Pooja as Ravi’s love interest. In the first movie, the female protagonist was forced into prostitution. As the story follows, Ravi gets her out of the situation and brings a new life to her. The movie does not end here. The story decides to continue once again with the same storyline after three decades that is evident in Sadak 2 movie.

Sadak 2 movie initiates with one of the scenes from Sadak and also few other scenes are shown in the first few minutes and from there the story decides to take a different turn. However, Sanjay Dutt was still projected as the Taxi driver Ravi, who owns various cars among which one is surprisingly Audi. It makes the audience believe that he must be very rich that he owns such an expensive vehicle. It is quite unnatural for a mere taxi driver, but anyway let’s get to see what else Sadak 2 movie hides.
Sadak 2 Casts

We already know about Sanjay Dutt in the role of Ravi Kishore, but apart from that, there is no other cast from Sadak in Sadak 2 movie. Well, there is somewhat presence of Pooja Bhatt as a mere voice that has been heard instructing Ravi once in Sadak 2 story. Besides these two, Sadak 2 movie has introduced Alia Bhatt in the skin of Aryaa. Her love interest Vishal (also has his name as Munna Chauhan) has been played by Aditya Roy Kapur. Also, Sadak 2 casts include Jishu Sengupta as Yogesh Desai, Ayraa’s father and Priyanka Bose as Aryaa’s aunt and stepmother Nandini Desai. The character of Guruji Gyan Prakash has been played by Makrand Deshpande.

Plot Of Sadak 2 Movie

As Sadak 2 story unfolds we get to know that Alia Bhatt losses her mother because of the affair of a religious guru whom she religiously calls fake and decides to take revenge from the fake guru by destroying their business completely. We get to see Ayraa burning the placard consisting the photo of the guruji Gyan Prashad. Though it is very unclear what is the exact importance of the scene in the movie that does not contribute to precede the movie.

Next, we get to see Ravi trying to commit suicide because he could not bear his life anymore after the death of Pooja. He has even left his job of taking people’s booking for his taxi but Alia Bhatt landed one day and asks him that she has made bookings to Kailash. On rejecting her, she made a fuss and at last, he agrees to go.

On their way to Kailash, they meet Vishal who gets out of central jail and joins them in the trip. He was a bit uneasy with Ravi and his taxi because he was not supposed to smoke or kiss. Though he decides to take a different taxi, Aryaa insisted not to change and tell him the entire story. However, there is a subplot in the story where Vishal reveals his reality and this although seems that the scene escalated quickly and there is a change in his personal traits.

The story then shifts into another few twists where Aryaa’s father and her stepmother has been involved along with the ‘fake’ guru. The business of God has once again been held up in front of the audience to prove how fatal it can be.

The story ends up with several deaths altogether and takes a quick turn and is having a very predictable ending. Though it is yet to find out how Aryaa became successful in fulfilling her revenge from the fake guru but was shown to attend the press conference at the end with utter relief.

The Overall Take On The Movie

Apart from the few nooks and crannies, the film highlights an emotional bond between Ravi and Aryaa. At a point in the Sadak 2 movie, Ravi declared Aryaa as his daughter and a glimpse has been shown on how he misses his unborn child with Pooja. He even pushes all his limits only to make sure that Aryaa does not get affected in any way. The overall acting of all the casts was not really bad. In fact, all of them have tried their best to put their respective characters at their best.
However, the story, as shown in the trailer was up to the mark for the ones who will think of the movie without the point of the events related to nepotism. Although the concept was really a matter of concern the team could not potentially bring out the plot. There are places where it could have improved.
