Who is Robert Smith? And What Else Did He Predict Apart from Queen’s Death?

Recently, Robert Smith, one of the musicians of The Cure, has been in the headlines for his unbelievable prediction about England’s Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Not only did he predict the exact date of Her Majesty’s death, but what sounds shocking is that he said it over ten years ago. Seriously, who would have guessed it right?

On September 8th, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96, leaving the world in mourning. However, on the other hand, several netizens came up with an old video of Robert Smith from The Cure, who made an accurate and shocking prediction about the monarch’s future in 2012.

And soon enough, it became the talk of the internet. It seems Robert’s prediction about the Queen’s death has stunned the world more than the Queen’s death itself.

Continue scrolling down to know ‘Who is Robert Smith?’, ‘What exactly did he predict for the queen’s death?’, and ‘What are his other predictions?’

Who is Robert Smith?

Robert Smith is a fine musician, lyricist, singer, guitarist, and songwriter in Hollywood. He is one of the prominent members of the band called ‘The Cure’. It was co-founded by him in 1978.

You might probably be unfamiliar with the band, but Smith has led it since its formation over 40 years ago and has been the only constant member since 1978. Their chart-topping songs are ‘Just Like a Dream’ and ‘Friday I’m in Love’.

Robert’s biggest hit was the song called Lullaby, released in 1989, earning the highest recognition compared to any other of their projects in the UK. Subsequently, he became more famous for his fine works in music throughout the world.

On the other hand, it might sound unsettling, but in the 1980s, Smith became highly influential in the goth subculture. As soon as his look became notorious, Smith became recognizable. His guitar-playing style, unusual voice, and fashion sense, which included a pale complexion, red lipstick, black eyeliner, a dishevelled nest of wiry black hair, and all-black clothing is still a fashion statement. Moreover, we could say he is an inspired version of Johnny Depp’s Edward Scissorhands.

Robert Smith About the Queen and His Other Predictions?

So far, Robert Smith’s renowned foretelling was the date of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Well, Smith actually predicted the exact date of the former England Queen Elizabeth II years ago.

Smith’s video is currently trending on Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit with lots of retweets.

His prediction has now been viewed more than 1.3 million times, liked 243,000 times, and received thousands of comments. It was released by a creator called Morgan (@filthyciggy) on TikTok.

He is now more popular for his prophetic jokes than as a lead member of The Cure.

It was in one of his interviews at Hurricane, a German Rock Music Festival in 2012, that Smith spoke about the royal family and especially the fact that he hates them.

Upon the interviewer’s question about Queen Elizabeth, Smith said openly that the Queen’s death will be on September 7th. Although he didn’t signify the year, only the date and month alone.

It started as a joke, but no one has ever thought Robert Smith from ‘The Cure’ would be a prophecy.

Robert Smith’s Hatred for The Royal Family

However, during the interview, he didn’t stop there, he said that there will be a huge revolt and he will be made the king of England. While listening to the interview, one can easily sense the loathing Robert Smith has for the Royal Family throughout his life.

As a final assertion, Smith asked fans to vote for him for the king. In no way is that possible. As of now, Charles III is the official King of England. Well, we can easily say only half of his predictions did come true.

Apparently, this interview was back in 2012, but now it has blown away internet users. Several people have been left shaken by the footage, while others have recognized it as an uncanny coincidence.

Queen Elizabeth II’s Death

Her Majesty became the Queen of England in 1952 at the age of 27, after her father’s tragic death. And subsequently, she has witnessed a lot of major social transitions, including the rising of the Commonwealth, the end of the Cold War, and other important events. Throughout her reign, 15 prime ministers of England have served her.

By organizing walkabouts, hosting royal visits, and attending public events, Elizabeth shaped the monarchy to fit this less deferential era. In the course of her career, she visited every Commonwealth country at least once, demonstrating her commitment to the organization.

In general, Queen Elizabeth devoted her life to service. She became the UK’s longest-reigning monarch, holding office for over seventy years.

On 6th September 2022, the Queen’s doctors gathered at Balmoral after expressing concern about her health. And unfortunately, on 7th September 2022, the world lost Lilibet. Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral at the age of 96.

Queen Elizabeth II may have gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Conclusion

Robert Smith was once known as the prophet of music, but now he is the prophet of destiny. Although ten years and a day have gone by since Smith made his joke, many netizens have shared it on social media with the claim that it is apocalyptic. Meanwhile, numerous netizens are counting on more predictions from him.
